Claflin (7-0 last week)
(Went 2-0 against LeMoyne-Owen; went 2-0 against Elizabeth City State; went 3-0 against Miles)
Coach James Randall's Panthers have turned their season around. The team lost six of its first seven games, but has gone 13-5 since.
That includes a 7-0 record -- 5-0 in SIAC play -- over the past seven days. The Panthers swept a doubleheader at LeMoyne-Owen on Tuesday in a rain-delayed and rain-shortened conference series.
They made the long bus ride home from Memphis in time to sweep Elizabeth City State in Orangeburg on Thursday.
A weekend home SIAC sweep of Miles stretched the Panthers' winning streak to eight games. They improved to 7-4 in conference play and 14-11 overall.
