Tigers' Okey tabbed for national team

Clemson freshman catcher Chris Okey has accepted an invitation to play on the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, the school announced Friday.

Okey, from Mount Dora, Fla., is batting .253 with four home runs and a team-leading 40 RBIs entering this weekend's series at Notre Dame. He was a two-time member of the USA Baseball Under-18 National Team.

The team customarily plays a series of exhibition games, them represents the USA in an international competition to end the summer.
