Bearcats co-favorites
Lander and Columbus State finished as co-favorites to win the Peach Belt Conference in a preseason vote of league head coaches.  USC Aiken and Georgia College finished in a tie for third. Franics Marion was picked to finish seventh.

Samford favored
Samford is PerfectGame.org's selection to win the Southern Conference championship in 2015. The Citadel is picked sixth, Furman seventh and Wofford eighth.

Furman third baseman Chris Ohmstede and The Citadel utility player Skylar Hunter were named to the Website's preseason all-SoCon team. Hunter is pegged as the pitcher of the year.

Western Carolina is D1Baseball.com's choice to win the Southern Conference title. Furman is picked seventh, The Citadel eighth and Wofford ninth.

D1Baseball.com calls Liberty the favorite to win the Big South Conference championship this season. The Flames are coached by former South Carolina assistant Jim Toman

The Website picks Coastal Carolina second, Winthrop fifth, Charleston Southern sixth and Presbyterian 10th.

Dalton Ewing of Coastal Carolina is the site's preseason freshman of the year for the Big South.

Patriots ready to go; Classic features six games
Francis Marion has posted its preview for the 2015 season. The Patriots open the season at 11 a.m. Saturday against Lenoir-Rhyne in the 10th annual Carolinas Hospital Baseball Classic at Sparrow Stadium in Florence. Also on Saturday, the Patriots face St. Rose at 5 p.m. In between, Pfeiffer and St. Rose meet at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Lenoir -Rhyne meets St. Rose at 11, Pfeiffer plays Lenoir-Rhyne at 2 p.m. and Francis Marion plays Pfeiffer at 5 p.m.

USC scrimmage times set
South Carolina has set starting times for its intrasquad scrimmages this weekend at Carolina Stadium in Columbia: 4 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The scrimmages are open to the public.
