PalmettoStateBaseball.com team of the week, March 2-8: USC Beaufort

USC Beaufort (5-0 for the week)
(went 2-0 vs. Brewton-Parker, went 3-0 vs. Thomas)

The Sand Sharks are riding an eight-game winning streak -- all on the road -- and used a 5-0 week to win the team of the week designation.

The Sand Sharks haven't played a home game since Feb. 21 and have six more road games before they play host to Brewton-Parker March 17.

Coach Bryan Lewallyn passed his predecessor, Rick Sofield, as the school's all-time winningest coach in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of Brewton-Parker.

Sofield built a solid foundation in his three years of the new program. Lewallyn took the Sand Sharks to the NAIA World Series in his first season.

USCB suffered its first losing season last year, 19-24. The fifth win of this week allowed the Sand Sharks to match their overall (19) and Sun Conference (9) win totals from last season.
