* There are no S.C. college baseball games on the schedule for Monday.
* Morris becomes the final S.C. team to open its season with a Tuesday home doubleheader against St. Andrews.
* Clemson makes its first visit to The Citadel since 1990, playing the Bulldogs Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park in Charleston. It's the Tigers' first multi-day visit to the Bulldogs since 1985 (they did play a doubleheader in 1987). The teams haven't played each other since 2004. The Citadel played its home games at College Park through 1996. Asa best as I can tell, Clemson's only previous game in Riley Park was against South Carolina during the 2012 season. USC won that game 3-2, in 11 innings
* Other in-state games on Tuesday include College of Charleston at Furman, Erskine at Newberry and South Carolina against USC Upstate at Fluor Field in Greenville. The last game ends a stretch of 10 consecutive games against in-state rivals for the Gamecocks. They are 7-2 so far.
Other in-state games on Wednesday include Wofford at Presbyterian, College of Charleston at Charleston Southern and Southern Wesleyan at Lander.
* North Greenville and Anderson meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Fluor Field in Greenville.
* Presbyterian and The Citadel meet in a weekend non-conference series in Charleston.
* South Carolina opens SEC play with a weekend home series against Arkansas.
* Lander has an important Peach Belt Conference series at Columbus State.
* Coastal Carolina has its first Big South Conference series, visiting Longwood.
* Wofford plays a split series with nearby Gardner-Webb, playing in Boiling Springs on Friday and Sunday and in Spartanburg on Satuday.
