Coastal Carolina will open with Florida
Florida's 7-0 victory over Florida State completed the eight-team field for the College World Series in Omaha beginning Saturday. The Gators will play Coastal Carolina in an 8 p.m. Sunday game at TD Ameritrade Park. Other first-round pairings are Texas Tech-TCU, Arizona-Miami and Cal Santa Barbara-Oklahoma State.

Beer one of four finalists
Clemson freshman Seth Beer is one of four finalists for the Golden Spikes Award, given to the top amateur player in college baseball. Other finalists are Corey Ray of Louisville, Kyle Lewis of Mercer and Logan Shore of Florida.

Singleton cited
Charleston Southern outfielder Chris Singleton was presented with the Charleston RiverDogs' Humanitarian Award over the weekend.
