* Morris becomes the final S.C. team to open its season on Monday when the Hornets visit Benedict for a doubleheader. I still haven't been able to secure a copy of Morris' complete schedule.
* Clemson plays its first Atlantic Coast Conference road series against Boston College, but the games will be played in Kingston, R.I., because of poor field conditions at BC's ballpark. The times listed below are likely to change. On Tuesday, the Tigers play at Coach Monte Lee's alma mater and former employer, College of Charleston.
* North Greenville and USC Aiken, both ranked in last week's NCAA Division II polls, face off at Fluor Field in Greenville on Wednesday. The Crusaders follow that up with a trip to Conferece Carolinas power Mount Olive over the weekend with USC Aiken is at Peach Belt Conference foe Lander.
* Other in-state meetings on Wednesday include Presbyterian at USC Upstate, Charleston Southern at South Carolina, Winthrop at Wofford and Francis Marion at Limestone.
* Furman opens Southern Conference play with a weekend series at Wofford.
* Claflin's weekend series against SIAC rival Morehouse will be played in the Charleston area.
* NJCAA Region 10 play begins next weekend when USC Lancaster is at Florence-Darlington Tech, USC Salkehatchie is at USC Sumter and Spartanburg Methodist plays host to Louisburg.
