State schedule, March 4-10

Clemson plays Furman at Fluor Field on Tuesday, then opens ACC play with a home series with North Carolina on the weekend as part of a busy next seven days for S.C. college baseball teams.

South Carolina moved its midweek home games with The Citadel (Tuesday) and Gardner-Webb (Wednesday) from 7 p.m. to 4 p.m. to try to avoid some of the cold temperatures forecast this week.

Wofford's home game with USC Upstate has been moved from Wednesday to 4 p.m. Tuesday. Also Tuesaday, North Greenville visits Anderson.

There are three matchups of state teams on Wednesday: Erskine at Benedict, Newberry at Southern Wesleyan and Winthrop at The Citadel.

The annual First Pitch Invitational begins next Friday at Fluor Field with Furman among five teams involved. After a midweek series with Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina competes in a tournament at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

On the weekend, The Citadel and Charleston Southern meet for three games and North Greenville has a home series with normally tough Belmont Abbey. Also, Presbyterian is at Georgia and College of Charleston plays at Arizona.

In addition, NJCAA Region 10 play begins.
