Benedict will face Spring Hill College at 4 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in Albany, Ga.
The Tigers finished sixth in the conference with a 9-10 record.
Games will be played at two sites in Albany the first two days before consolidating on Albany State's West Campus for the final two days. Benedict's opening game will be at the Paul Eames Sports Complex.
Regtular-season champion Albany State won the top seed for the double-elimination event, which determines the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II South Regional.
