Dylan Brewer, Davis Sharpe and Kier Meredith hit two-run homers in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, respectively. The Tigers had 11 hits and benefited from four USC errors.
The closest USC came to getting a hit against Weatherly was on the last batter he faced. George Callil hit a fly ball to the warning track in center field, but Clemson's Bryce Teodosio caught as he tumbled into the base of the wall.
The Gamecocks were hitless until Brady Allen's leadoff homer against Geoffrey Gilbert in the ninth. Gilbert struck out four batters in two innings.
Seven of Clemson's 11 hits were for extra bases.
The series continues at 3 p.m. Saturday at Segra Park in Columbia before shifting to Clemson on Sunday.
