The pace picks up for South Carolina baseball this weekend with 20 teams playing their first game of the season.

There are four matchups of in-state teams: Anderson-USC Beaufort, Erskine-Lander, Morris-Claflin and Newberry-Francis Marion.

Spartanburg Methodist opens what is expected to be its final season as a junior college program with a home series against Paul D. Camp.

Florence-Darlington Tech and North Greenville face challenging schedules in a Florida swing.

Depending on postponements, Benedict and Bob Jones should be the only state teams below the NCAA Division I level to have not played a game by Sunday. DI teams can begin their season Feb. 16.
