After losing the opener of a Continental Athletic Conference doubleheader, Jathan Smith struck out eight in five innings and three relievers helped a finish a 12-strikeout effort in seven innings for the Tigers (8-11).

Angel Morel had an RBI single and Jordyn Hill scored on an error in the Voorhees fourth.  Fisher answered with a run in the fifth, but could not get the equalizer.

Hill and Joseph Gaines had a hit in each game.

Elsewhere: Coastal Carolina hit four homers - including three in a 10-run sixth inning to blow past USC Upstate and push its winning streak to nine. Noah Sullivan had four hits - including two homers - and drove in six for Upstate ... South Carolina batters drew 11 walks and USC pitchers struck out 13 to beat The Citadel. Bulldogs pitchers struck out 14 Gamecocks ...  Hunter Poole singled, doubled, stole a base, scored two runs and drove in two as Coker beat Lander for its sixth win in the last eight games ... College of Charleston used a pair of four-run innings to snap a three-game losing streak and extend Liberty's slide to four ... North Greenville scored nine runs over the first two innings and hit five homers as it snapped Limestone's nine-game winning streak.  ... Eight pitchers threw one inning each and Jay Douglas stolen five bases as Florence-Darlington Tech run-ruled Fayetteville Tech ... Anderson scored six runs in the second and held on for a win at Emmanuel ... Penn scored seven runs in the ninth to overtake Charleston Southern ... Claflin tied the game in the ninth, but Savannah State scored five runs to extend the Panthers' losing streak to 16 ...  Emory & Henry took the lead with a five-run sixth to defeat USC Aiken ...  Western Michigan pitchers held Presbyterian to two hits and scored a pair of eighth-inning runs to clip the Blue Hose ... St. Rose took an early five-run lead and held on to beat Francis Marion ... Mars Hill wiped out an early three-run deficit to take the first of two meetings with Erskine this season ... South Georgia took a pair of games at USC Salkehatchie ...

Well, technically, inside the border: Georgia broke a 1-1 tie late to beat Georgia Southern at SRP Park in North Augusta ... Vanderbilt beat Eastern Michigan, 6-2, to give coach Tim Corbin his 1,000th victory. He previously was head coach at Presbyterian and an assistant at Clemson ... Ben Miller had four hits (two homers) and drove in seven runs as No. 12 Duke hammered Appalachian State, 28-2, behind a 16-run fifth inning ... No. 16 North Carolina played at No. 22 Campbell for the first time since 1999 and came away a 7-3 winner thanks to a four-run ninth inning ... Clemson transfer and Palmetto State native Billy Amick hit his eighth homer as Tennessee beat Kansas State, 15-5 ... No. 7 Texas A&M remained unbeaten with a 9-2 win at No. 24 Texas ... Top-ranked Wake Forest fell behind 6-2, but rallied for an 11-9 win over Georgetown ... Greenville County native David Mershon doubled, walked, stole a base, was hit by a pitch, scored a run and drove in a run as Mississippi State topped Southern Mississippi, 5-5 ...
