Region 10 announces awards

Rom Kellis of Florence-Darlington Tech was named NJCAA Region 10's Division I player of the year Thursday as part of the all-region teams selected by coaches.

Preston McDonald of FD Tech was named region coach of the year after guiding his team to the region regular-season championship.

The Region 10 tournament begins Friday at Lexington County Baseball Stadium. The winner earns Region 10's bid to the East District playoffs for a chance to advance to the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, Colo.
