Fluor Field has been a showplace for baseball ever since it was built on the West End of downtown Greenville a couple of decades ago.
While minor league Greenville Drive are the major tenants, the club's organization has been generous in making the facility available to baseball teams on all levels.
Driver owner Craig Brown has hosted his alma mater Michigan State's baseball team for early season games for many years, and the park often serves as the neutral site for a game in the annual Clemson-South Carolina rivalry.
Another busy schedule cranks up this weekend when Michigan State plays Harvard three games wrapped around a Clemson-Carolina matinee on Saturday.
All told, there 15 college games and six high school games scheduled at Fluor Field in 2025.
“We’re always excited with the start of baseball season, and at Fluor Field that starts in March with a full slate of college and high school games," said Eric Jarinko, the Drive's general manager.
"This marks the 17th straight season that Michigan State has come to Fluor Field as part of their early spring schedule," Jarinko said. "We also really enjoy working with many of the local colleges and high schools, giving the players a very unique experience and opportunity to play at one of Minor League Baseball’s top venues.”
Michigan State's roster includes Dominic Pianto, a pitcher who began his career at Furman and transferred to Michigan State after Furman dropped baseball.
