Briefly:  Jase Woita's sixth-inning grand slam provided a game-changing spark for South Carolina (6-0) in a win over Milwaukee. Gamecocks starter Dylan Eskew left the game in the third innings with an apparent injury. Coach Paul Mainieri said after the game it was a back strain ... Aidan Knaak (8) and Drew Titsworth (5) combined for 13 strikeouts as No. 8 Clemson (3-1) won its home opener over VCU in the Clemson Invitational ... Harrison Campi's third hit of the game gave Wofford (4-1) a walk-off win over Army in a series opener ... A bases-loaded walk in the ninth pushed Presbyterian (3-2) past Le Moyne ... Charleston Southern (4-1) scored six runs in the first and five in the second in a run-rule win over Manhattan in a series opener. Lucas Pringle had four hits and drove in four runs ... Jake Brink allowed two hits over 5 1/3 shutout innings as College of Charleston (4-1) took the series opener against Seton Hall ... Coastal Carolina (4-2) pitchers allowed three hits, but walked 12 and hit three in a loss to Alabama to open the Jax College Baseball Classic ... Brody Fowler struck out eight in six innings as North Greenville (12-1) took the opener of a Conference Carolinas home series with UNC Pembroke ... Blayne Newman struck out 13 in six innings and USC Aiken (5-6) scored five runs in the eighth to overtake NCAA Division II No. 8 Indiana (Pa.) ... Jacob Ingram pitched 3 1/3 shutout innings and Anderson (6-5) used a 10-run eighth to run-rule Mars Hill in a South Atlantic Conference series ... Ethan LeBron allowed a run over 6 2/3 innings as Newberry (10-3) beat Carson-Newman to open their SAC series ... Colt Wilkins and Conner Elliott combined on a two-hit shutout in Limestone's (6-7) eight-inning win over No. 17 SAC foe Catawba .. Villanova scored eight runs in the final three innings to pull away from Winthrop (3-2) ... Three home runs powered Young Harris over Erskine (6-6) to open a Conference Carolinas series ... Talladega kept Voorhees (3-4) scoreless until the ninth in taking the opener of the series ... Justin Jackson struck out 10 in six innings as NAIA power Tennessee Wesleyan won the opener of an Appalachian Athletic Conference series with Columbia International (8-7).

Beyond the borders: Former USC Union teammates Brayden Corn and Trent Turner had two hits apiece as Western Carolina beat Maryland, 8-7. Turner homered and drove in four runs. Former South Carolina player Elijah Lambros had a hit and scored a run for the Terrapins ... Former USC Lancaster star Joe Sperry struck out one in a scoreless inning of  relief in Minnesota's 3-2 loss to Oklahoma in the Round Rock Classic.
