Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, March 3-9: Lander

Lander (4-0 for the week)
(beat Wingate, best Augusta three times)

Seven games into the season Lander was sitting at 2-5. Since mid-February, though, the Bearcats have been tougher to beat than a three-card monte dealer.

Three come-from-behind wins as part of a 4-0 week moved Lander's record to 16-6. The Bearcats are 14-1 over their last 15 games, with the lone blemish a 10-inning loss at Flagler last Sunday.

Coach Jason Burke's squad is 5-1 in the Peach Belt Conference, good for a three-way tie for second place a game behind Georgia College.

Up next: a Tuesday visit to Belmont Abbey, followed by a weekend conference home series against Columbus State.
