Auburn, the designated visiting team, scored a run in the second inning it stood up until the seventh. Sebastian Alexander lead off the Chanticleers' seventh with a double and took third on Blake Barthol's sacrifice bunt. Walker Mitchell singled in Alexander to tie the score. With two out, Blagen Pado singled. Ty Dooley reached on an error by the Tigers' first baseman as Mitchell scored. Ty Dooley walked to load the bases and Wells Sykes was hit by a pitch to force in a third run.
Alexander led off the Coastal eighth with a double and scored on Mitchell's single.
Jacob Morrison pitched the first six inning, allowing a run on six hits and striking out six. Hayden Johnson struck out five in three shutout innings to close out Coastal's 23rd straight win under first-year coach Kevin Schnall.
Coastal was the first team to qualify for Omaha. The eight-team event begins June 13.
