handed No. 1 NAIA power Tennessee
Wesleyan its first loss of the season.

Briefly: Robert Bell's three-run homer in the first inning gave Columbia International a lead it never relinquished and the Rams held on to beat the nation's top-ranked NAIA team to open their Appalachian Athletic Conference series. Tennessee Wesleyan (22-1, 9-1) left the tying run at second base to end the game as CIU snapped a five-game losing streak ...  Bryar Hawkins hit a three-run triple in a five-run first inning and Clemson added three solo homers to win the opener of its ACC series ...  Kumar Rocker outdueled Thomas Farr and Vanderbilt handed South Carolina its fifth straight loss. The Gamecocks struck out 17 times ... Tyler Corbitt homered and scored two runs as The Citadel won the Southern Conference series opener against Wofford to extend its winning streak to four games. In Game 2, the Terriers were hitless through four innings, but erupted for five runs in the fifth and held on for the split ...  Eric Toth doubled in the go-ahead run in the 11th, scored what proved to be the deciding run and pitched three innings for the win as Presbyterian won its Big South Conference series opener ...  Lander used three big innings to coast in its Peach Belt Conference series opener ... Coastal Carolina scored four runs in the fourth and Chanticleers' pitching made them stand up ... USC Upstate left the bases loaded in the ninth in dropping its Big South Conference series opener ... Grayson Cottingham was 5-for-5 with two doubles and a homer to lead Francis Marion to victory ... Cody Forster's single gave Erskine a walk-off win in Game 1 of its Conference Carolinas doubleheader, but Belmont Abbey scored five runs in its final at-bat to win the nightcap ... Tanner Glass had three hits and struck out seven in six innings as Southern Wesleyan ended a 12-game losing streak ... A six-run second sparked USC Aiken in its series opener ... The Morris win in Friday's opener snapped a 14-game losing streak for the Hornets, who last won on March 26, 2019. Benedict got its first win of the season in the nightcap.
