Big South: Blue Hose win; Spartans lose

Zacchaeus Rasberry and Eric Toth homered and drove in three runs as Presbyterian upended regular-season champion Campbell in a first-round game in Fayetteville.  Rasberry had three RBI hits as the Blue took a 4-0 lead, then Toth added a three-run blast late. The Blue Hose play Gardner-Webb at 3 p.m. Friday. Gardner-Webb jumped on USC Upstate ace Jordan Marks for six runs in the second inning to send the Spartans into a Friday elimination game against Campbell.

CAA: Cougars fall into losers bracket

Top-seeded Northeastern scored six runs in the first inning and coasted to a 10-3 win over the College of Charleston in Wilmington, N.C. The Cougars play William & Mary at 11 a.m. Friday in an elimination game.

SoCon: Catamounts pound Terriers

Pascanel Ferreras doubled, homered twice and drove in six runs as Western Carolina ripped top-seeded Wofford, 16-5, at Fluor Field in Greenville. The Catamounts led 7-0 after three innings and scored the final seven runs after Wofford had pulled within 9-5. The Terriers play an elimination at at 3:30 p.m. Friday against Mercer. Western will play Samford, which beat Mercer, 10-8 early Friday morning.

NCAA DII Southeast: Crusaders fall in opener

Wingate held North Greenville to three hits - although three were homers - to top the Crusaders, 6-4, in a first-round game of the NCAA Division II playoffs at Tigerville.
