Gavin Casas hit two home runs and Jack Mahoney and James Hicks combined to hold Clemson's offense in check as No. 23 South Carolina beat Clemson, 7-1, in the rubber game of their season series.

Talmadge LeCroy also homered for the Gamecocks (11-1). USC took a 1-0 lead in the first, but Clemson tied the score in the top of the second.

Casas, a transfer from Vanderbilt, broke the tie with a solo homer in the second and added a two-run blast in the fourth. LeCroy added another homer as the next hitter.

Casas has 7 homers and 16 RBI this season. He had 15 RBI in 31 games covering two seasons at Vandy.

Tigers pitchers struck out 11 Gamecocks. Mahoney struggled through four innings, striking out four. Hicks (3-0) shut out Clemson on two hits and struck out six in five innings.

Clemson had its chances. The Tigers (5-6) were 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position and 2-for-17 with runners on base.
LeCroy was named winner of the Tom Price Award, given to the most valuable USC player in the series. Clemson Cam Cannarelli was selected the Bob Bradley Award recipient. The awards are given in memory of the former sports information directors at their schools. Both had a particular love of baseball.
