Taylor to focus on baseball

Clemson's Will Taylor announced on Wednesday that he is going to leave the TIgers' football program to concentrate on baseball.  An outfielder, Taylor hit .362 with 16 doubles, 5 homers, 46 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 2023. The sophomore from Irmo played in 10 games for the football team in 2022, catching 5 passes for 16 yards and a touchdown and returned 10 punts for 26 yards.

Angels sign McGillis

South Carolina second baseman Will McGillis has signed a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Angels. A transfer from Southern Mississippi, he hit .313 with 14 homers and 30 RBI despite missing almost half the season with an arm injury.

Indians seek assistant

USC Salkehatchie coach Jeremy Joye has posted on Twitter he is looking for an assistant coach for the junior college program. His e-mail address is JoyeJL@mailbox.sc.edu.
