Stingers, Pioneers play in February tournaments

Florence-Darlington Tech and Spartanburg Methodist regularly travel south early each season to play in challenging tournaments as preparation for NJCAA Region 10, and that's the case again this season.

FD Tech will be in Florida the first two weekends in February, competing with 15 other teams in the Panama City Beach JUCO Classic at the Publix Sportsplex. The Stingers will play four games in the bracketed tournament from. Feb. 2-4.

The following week, the Stingers play four more times in the John Tindall Classic in Palatka, beginning Feb. 9. The schedule is predetermined and not based on game results.

Spartanburg Methodist has been a regular in the Southern Union State Invitational Tournament in Wadley, Ala. The year's event is Feb. 16-18 and, like the John  Tindall Class, has a predetermined schedule.
