Winthrop gets investment

Winthrop and Founders Federal Credit Union have reached agreement on a five-year deal that will include $1.5 million in investment in school athletic facilities.

The baseball stadium will be renamed Founders Field and will receive artificial turf.

Osuna on the move

There are severals posts on X tonight that first baseman/DH Alberto Osuna plans to transfer from NCAA Division II power Tampa to an SEC school with hopes of getting eligibility for this season. Osuna attended Mauldin High School then played at North Carolina. He hit .259 in three seasons at UNC, hitting 45 homers and striking out 206 times in 644 at-bats.

Claflin's schedule changes

Xavier of New Orleans was a late dropout from this week's HBCU tournament in New Orleans. Claflin, which snapped a 43-game losing streak in Friday's opener, will now play Rust on Saturday at 4 p.m. EST
