Team of the week, May 4-10 (tie): Charleston Southern, Claflin, Lander

Charleston Southern (4-0 for the week)
(beat College of Charleston went 3-0 at Longwood)

Claflin: (3-0 for the week)
(beat Bluefield State, went 2-0 at Virginia State)

Lander (3-0 for the week)
(beat Columbus State, went 2-0 at North Georgia

Just call me a copout.

I thought three teams were worthy of team of the week so, I picked all three.

* Charleston Southern clinched back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1987-88 with a sweep at Longwood. Coach Karl Kuhn has done it in his first two seasons at the school.

* Claflin followed up a four-win regular-season with three wins in three days. The Panthers went 1-24 over the final 25 games of the season before coach Jaylan Bledsoe's squad dominated the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (unofficial) Championship Series.

* Lander survived an if-necessary game to reach the Peach Belt Conference Championship series, then swept regular-season champion North Georgia in two games in Dahlonega. The Bearcats are led by first-year coach Nick Popp.

Up next
* Charleston Southern: at home vs. Radford, Thursday
* Claflin: season is complete
* Lander:  NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Round 1 at North Greenville (schedule TBA)
