Team USA in Germany
The United States begins competition in the World Cup beginning Wednesday in Germany. First-round games are against Venezuela, Germany and China. Former University of South Carolina star Justin Smoak is on the team. He struggled offensively during four exhibition wins over Canada, hitting a team-low .167. Indications are there will be a link on the page linked to below where you can follow team action.

  • Bunn to Bama?
There are message board reports that Clemson pitching coach Kyle Bunn is leaving to take the same position at Alabama. As I write this (about 1:05 p.m. EDT), there is no confirmation from either school. If it is true, there may be a real scramble of coaches lining up for the Clemson job. It is one of the most consistently successful programs in the country.
