Conference Carolinas, Region 10 seeds, brackets set

Patriots earn Conference Carolinas top seed

Francis Marion will be the top seed for the Conference Carolinas Tournament beginning Wednesday in Gastonia, N.C.

The Patriots and Young Harris finished tied for the regular-season title with 22-8 records, but Francis Marion won the head-to-head tiebreaker.

FMU's first game double-elimination portion of the event is at 11 a.m. Thursday against the winner of a play-in game between Shorter and Emmanuel.

Most games will be played at CaroMont Health Park, with one game on Thursday, Friday and Saturday being played at Sims Legion Park.

North Greenville is the fourth seed and will open against UNC Pembroke at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sims Legion Park.

Even though there is one day left in the regular season, the seeds for the NJCAA Region Tournament have been set.

Seeds: 1 Florence-Darlington Tech. 2. Gaston College. 3. USC Lancaster. 4. USC Sumter. 5. USC Union. 6. USC Salkehatchie.

The tournament begins Friday at Lexington County Baseball Stadium. Florence-Darlington Tech is the top seed for the fifth straight season and the defending tournament champion.
